St Petersburg North East Area Information

St. Petersburg is a city on Florida's gulf coast, part of the Tampa Bay area. It is the 5th largest city in the 3rd largest state and growing fast! It's known for its pleasant weather (hence its "Sunshine City" nickname), making it popular for golfing, boating, fishing and beach going. Tourists come and fall in love with the area and want to live permanently in this modern city with historical roots going back to 1875 when co-founder by John C. Williams, formerly of Detroit, purchased the land and by Peter Demens, a noble Russian aristocrat, who was instrumental in bringing the terminus of the Orange Belt Railway there in 1888. The first major newspaper to debut in Tampa Bay was the St. Petersburg Times which established in 1884 and continues on today as the Tampa Bay Times after combining with the Tampa Tribune in 2016.

Its waterfront parks host the Dali Museum, featuring surrealist works of art; the Museum of Fine Arts, with works ranging from ancient to contemporary; and Mahaffey Theater, home of the Florida Orchestra. This NE office is located close to the historic Old North East Section of the city but serves the Pinellas County area from the Skyway Bridge North to Seminole, Largo and north.
