'Going green' is the need of the hour and there are many simple things that one can incorporate in the Lakeland property management to achieve this goal.

  1. Encourage your residents to plant herb gardens and grow their own food. If this is difficult; at least encourage them to shop for local organic, green produce from local farmers markets or eat at local restaurants. This helps boost the local economy.
  2. Switch all bulbs to CFL and install Energy efficient devices and appliances.
  3. Encourage and remind residents about saving energy by switching off appliances and unplugging ones that are not in use.
  4. Use the laundry machines and dishwashers only on full loads and preferably on the cold setting.
  5. Walk, when possible, especially to nearby locations.
  6. Encourage residents to put up yards sales and shop at thrift stores as this helps one recycle. People can also check websites like Craigslist etc before buying something. This helps save money as well!
  7. Encourage tenants to use herbal/natural and earth friendly cleaners and cosmetics. Baking soda, vinegar and several other common kitchen ingredients do the job as well as any cleaner without the harmful chemicals.

These are seven easy tips that can get everyone involved in the going 'green' movement. By encouraging parents to encourage their kids, this movement can be doubled and it will also help boost the economy and make the Earth a better place to live in.
